A Woman the Society Deserves
Despite living in a male dominated society, the advocacy on women's Empowerment is slowly showing its impact in our society.
Education, employment, leadership, health care services and equal pay is no longer a privilege but a human right. Thanks be to feminism.
We can't deny we are all born of a woman. This is not to undermine the efforts of selfless and hardworking men who work tirelessly to change the narrative of having better men.
Coming from the african Society where a woman is the source of nourishment, unconditional love and a pillar of a household, there comes alot of gives, challenges and sacrifices made since as per the african culture a woman is the mirror of a society.
Wherever she goes she reflects her people, culture, most importantly her home. From her actions and her way of doing things define the type of woman who raised her. The words she speaks, how she conducts herself and how she carries herself speaks alot about the type of man that raised her.
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder is a cliche but can't be underrated. It defines the first step of a woman's journey to woman hood. Though one thing was never made clear. It's not taught rather you learn to understand it when you take a back sit and watch. A woman that catches the eye of a man will fill her purse but a woman who catches a man's heart will experience his world.
This is not to mean a woman's life revolves around a man but truth be told at the end of the day men will live to be hunters and leaders to a woman. What's never said is that; as a woman you tune the type of music a man chooses to dance.
There are uncountable qualities shared about a better woman. In this era where social media is the main tool for conveying information so much is said. From how a woman needs to carry herself, what she wants, expectations and what makes her worthy.
Here are some of the untold truths:
The expectations are high on your end. Despite being termed as the most vulnerable gender, you are the one who is left to endure the most and is expected to give more.
At some point as a woman you are tuned to embrace the bare minimum because that's the ideal type of an african woman a society is expecting. Its masked in the wife material and super woman standards, but truth be told no one or man wishes to have the bare minimum. He'll settle for that because you are what he can have at the moment , he can afford and the one that can massage his ego. Not to be harsh but if he's given an opportunity where he's never going to regret, he eyes on the woman on top of her game.
There is no manuscript on how life should be lived. More so a story where you are the main character. Advices are good to the ear but mindset and decision making is a personal initiative. In everything putting yourself first is a long term investment that yields later on in life and definitely its going to benefit even the one's who thought you are selfless.
Hardwork is so emphasized and living under compromised situations. Life is a risk. If it never worked at least you tried. Being smart is a general talk but working smart is key. This includes silence in the foundation, it's assumed to be lack of progress which should be something to never be afraid of.
The most kind hearts are taken for granted but they are the most rewarding traits one would ever have. The beauty of having an environment full of people with genuine intent is the most fulfilling.
Everyone desires a happy woman. It's no one's job to make you happy. Happiness is a personal job and goes along way beyond a smile. It's the healthy mind, healthy relationships and paying attention to your intuition.
Someone one's said if you educate a woman you educate a society. I can't conquer less with it. Education is not only about the formal education, rather reading books, experiencing different people and places and lastly spiritual education.
The goal is to see and have a better society, if this gets the ear of just one woman. It only means the begining of change is manifesting.
Cheers to having beautiful days!
